Woman Charged Following Stabbing – Cootamundra
A woman has been charged after a man was stabbed during a domestic incident in the State’s South early today.
About 12.20 am Police were called to a home in O’Donnell Street, Cootamundra, following reports of a stabbing.
Upon arrival, Police located a man on the hallway floor suffering multiple stab wounds to his back and left arm.
It is alleged the man and a 17-year-old female had an argument before she stabbed him with a knife and fled the home.
The 44-year-old man was taken by paramedics to Wagga Wagga Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.
Police established a crime scene and conducted forensic examinations.
Following inquiries Police arrested a 17-year-old female at Cootamundra about 3.15 am.
The female teenager was taken to Cootamundra Police Station and charged with causing wounding with intent to murder and wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
The teenager has been refused bail and is due to appear at Wagga Wagga Local Court tomorrow (Saturday 2 January).
