Man Undergoes Surgery Following Stabbing – Kurnell
A man will undergo surgery in hospital after being stabbed during an altercation at Kurnell last night.
About 11:40 pm, the 18-year-old man was in a park on Captain Cook Drive with friends when they were approached by a group of males.
It is believed there was an argument between the 18-year-old and another group of males when the 18-year-old was stabbed to his hip and thigh.
The group fled the scene while the injured man was driven to Sutherland Hospital by witnesses. He remains in a serious condition and will undergo surgery later today.
As a result of investigations by detectives from Miranda Local Area Command, a 16-year-old boy was arrested at a home in Kurnell and taken to Miranda Police Station.
He has since been spoken to by investigators and released from custody without charge pending further investigations.
