Police Arrest Man After Another Man Stabbed During Road Rage Incident – Narwee
A man has been arrested and charged after allegedly stabbing another man during a road rage incident at Narwee yesterday.
About 3 pm (Saturday 2 January) a 29-year-old Punchbowl man was driving his black Toyota Corolla along Station Lane, Narwee when he became involved in a road rage incident with a 29-year-old Narwee man who was driving a white Honda Accord.
The driver of the Corolla parked and left his car in nearby Hannans Road before returning to it a short time later.
It is alleged when the man returned to his vehicle he was confronted by the Honda driver and another man before becoming involved in an argument with the pair.
During the incident the 29-year-old Punchbowl man was allegedly punched to the face and stabbed once to the chest before he was able to run to nearby premises and contact emergency services.
He was taken to St. George Hospital where he received a number of sutures to the stab wound.
Police from Campsie Local Area Command attended the scene and the Honda driver was arrested in nearby Nanowie Street.
The man was taken to Bankstown Hospital for treatment of minor injuries to his arm before being taken to Campsie Police Station where he was interviewed and charged with two counts of reckless wounding in company.
He was granted conditional bail and is expected to appear at Burwood Local Court on Tuesday 19 January.
Investigations into the matter are continuing and Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information about the second assailant to contact Campsie Police via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
