Swimmer Hit By Speedboat, Man Interviewed – Moama
Police have spoken with a man who they believe was operating a boat which struck a swimmer in the Murray River, near Moama, yesterday morning, 24 December.
A 47-year-old man was hit by a speedboat while swimming near Caseys Bend, on the NSW/Victorian border, between 9 am and 9.20 am.
The man, from Curtin in the ACT, was airlifted to Royal Melbourne Hospital in a critical condition and died yesterday afternoon.
Following a public appeal for information a 24-year-old man, from Devon Meadows in Victoria, contacted investigators and was interviewed by Police late last night at Moama.
The man was released pending further investigations.
