Two Charged After CBD Glassing

Two men have been charged after an alleged glassing at a hotel bar in the Sydney CBD this morning.

Emergency services were called to the scene about 12.35 am when a fight broke out between three men in a bar on the fourth floor of a hotel on George Street.

Police will allege a 21-year-old man used a broken glass to punch a 22-year-old man in the face after being wrestled to the ground.

The injured man was taken to St. Vincent’s Hospital for treatment to several deep cuts to the right side of his face.

Hotel security held two men until Police arrived and took them to City Central Police Station.

The 21-year-old Strathfield man was charged with cause grievous bodily harm with intent, and affray. He was refused bail to attend Parramatta Bail Court today.

A second man, aged 20 from Canterbury, was charged with assault and affray. He was granted bail and is due to appear in Downing Centre Local Court on 2 February.
