Police Investigate Death Of Man After Trailer Crushes Truck – Menangle Park

A man has died after he was crushed in the cabin of his truck during an incident at a race track at Menangle Park in Sydney’s South-West yesterday afternoon.

About 2 pm, the 56-year-old man was driving a truck and trailer on the property on Racecourse Avenue, Menangle Park, when the incident occurred.

It is believed the trailer of the truck, which was carrying road fill, rolled and landed on the cabin trapping the man inside the vehicle.

Local Police and officers from the Police Rescue Squad attended the scene where they were assisted by officers from the NSW Fire Brigades Rescue Squad and NSW Ambulance Paramedics.

The man was trapped inside the cabin of the truck and died at the scene.

A lengthy operation was conducting including the use of a 30 ton crane to lift the truck and recover the man’s body.

Police and Workcover are conducting investigations into the circumstances leading up to the man’s death and a report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
