About 4 pm on Tuesday 24th August 2010, a 29 year old male person from Condell Park entered a retail store within the Macquarie Shopping Centre, Macquarie Park.
The male obtained a trolley and went to the Home Office section and selected four external hard drives valued at $600 and placed them into his trolley. He moved to another area of the store where he removed the hard drives from their packaging and concealed them on his person. The male left the store without paying for the items.
About 12.00 pm on Saturday 28th August 2010, the male returned to the same store where he was seen by Loss Prevention Officers. The male person selected a number of memory cards and hard drives valued at $800 which he removed from their packaging and placed them into his trouser pockets. He left the store without making any payment for the items and was detained by Loss Prevention Officers.
Police attended the store and arrested the male person before taking him to Ryde Police Station where he was charged with two counts of shoplifting and breaching his bail. His bail was refused and he will next appear at Bankstown Local Court on the 1st September 2010.
