KEY POINTS

Livestock and meat production monthly trend movements for March 2015:

  • Cattle slaughter showed a small increase in March 2015 to remain at high levels reflecting continued drought conditions, higher beef prices and beef exports
  • Sheep slaughter continued its gradual decline in March 2015 as the industry prepares to restock
  • Lamb slaughter has increased in March 2015 due to strong meat export demand
