Voters Send Message To Labor And The Greens: We’ve Had Enough

Victor P Taffa

Hobart voters have clearly sent a message to Lara Giddings and Nick McKim that they’ve had enough of their unstable, self-interested, and job-destroying minority government experiment, according to Opposition Leader Will Hodgman.

“This result makes Labor’s Queensland result look good.”

“At a pathetic 19 % the Labor vote has more than halved since the last election when Doug Parkinson polled 43%.”

“Even on the more generous comparison of the same booths in the 2010 state election, the Labor vote is down by 7 %, to historic lows.” Mr. Hodgman said.

“Labor candidate Dean Winter ran an energetic campaign but was handicapped by the toxic Labor brand.”

“The Green result is little better, down nearly 8 % since the 2006 election, and 5 % since 2010.”

“It’s time Ms. Giddings and Mr. McKim listened to Tasmanians, did the right thing, and ended all the uncertainty of this failed minority government experiment by calling an election.” Mr. Hodgman said.
