Tasmania Shadow Minister for Forestry Peter Gutwein
Secret Plan To Sack Up To 150 Forestry Tasmania Workers

Premier Lara Giddings needs to finally come clean on what the $35 Million in the state budget for Forestry Tasmania is actually for, Shadow Minister for Forestry Peter Gutwein said.
“The Liberals understand that the money will be used to fund redundancies for up to 150 jobs that’s nearly half FT’s work force, with the GBE ripped apart at the behest of the Greens.”
“The word is that the Green-Labor government is secretly planning to split FT into two much smaller entities with a Parks manager to look after assets such as roads and manage any fire risk, and a small commercial forestry arm.” Mr. Gutwein said.
“Forestry workers and regional communities have already paid too high a price as a result of the disastrous forestry deal, the last thing the industry can afford is another 150 jobs losses.”
“That is why this week in the Legislative Council the Liberals will pursue an amendment to remove the $35 Million blank cheque set aside in the budget for Forestry Tasmania.”
“It’s time the Premier stopped appeasing the Greens and worked with us to grow the forestry industry, instead of killing it off.” Mr. Gutwein said.
