Tasmania Shadow Minister for Forestry Peter Gutwein
Govt Must Come Clean On The Cost Of Forest Deal Propaganda
Victor P Taffa
The Government must immediately come clean on how much money is being spent on propaganda to try and convince Tasmanians and the Legislative Council that the disastrous forest deal is a good thing, according to Shadow Minister for Forestry Peter Gutwein.
“Today all three major Tasmanian newspapers contained half page advertisements promoting the forest deal as a positive outcome instead of the job and community destroyer it really is.”
“Tasmanians have a right to know how much of their money is being spent on blatant propaganda to keep Labor’s partnership with the Greens alive.” Mr. Gutwein said.
“Unanswered questions also remain around how many millions in additional funding has been promised to round table signatories in order to force agreement on this deal; and how many jobs is this intended to buy out?”
“From day one this process has been secretive and exclusive, and the government must immediately make this information public.” Mr. Gutwein said.
