Appeal For Witnesses Following Armed Robbery – Penshurst

Police have appealed for witnesses following an armed robbery of a takeaway food shop in Penshurst overnight.

About 8.20 pm (Saturday 26 December) a man armed with a 30 cm serrated-edged knife entered the shop on Forest Road.

The man demanded the shop’s Manager open the cash register and lie on the ground.

The man then left the store with cash from the till.

No one was injured during the robbery.

The man was last seen heading on foot in a south east direction along Forest Road.

The man was described to Police as Pacific Islander in appearance and 182 cm tall with a solid build. He was wearing a long-sleeved dark grey hooded top under a grey T-shirt with a blue picture on the front, dark blue denim jeans and white, patterned sneakers.

Police will examine CCTV footage and has asked anyone with any information to contact Hurstville Detectives via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
