Jonathan Higgins has today been appointed to the rank of Assistant Commissioner at Tasmania Police.

Minister for Police, Fire and Emergency Management, Michael Ferguson, said Assistant Commissioner Higgins brings a wealth of experience to this important senior role, following nearly 20 years of experience with Tasmania Police.

Most recently, Assistant Commissioner Higgins has served as the Commander of the Western District.

Prior roles include heading up the Launceston Criminal Investigation Branch, and the creation of People and Culture within the Department of Police, Fire and Emergency Management.

Assistant Commissioner Higgins has been appointed after the former Assistant Commissioner, Glenn Frame, retired recently after almost 41 years of dedicated service to Tasmania Police.

“I congratulate Assistant Commissioner Higgins on this appointment, which is effective today, and I wish him well building on the strong culture of collaboration and capability across Tasmania Police.” Minister Ferguson said.
