Man Arrested, Three Cars Stolen At Knifepoint – Sydney’s North-West
Police from The Hills Local Area Command have arrested a man following three alleged car-jackings in Sydney’s North-West this morning.
The first incident happened shortly before 10 am when a man entered a home in Warumbui Avenue, Baulkham Hills, and allegedly assaulted a man before stealing his car.
About 11 am a woman was allegedly threatened by a man armed with a knife who then stole her car as she was in Cropley Drive, Baulkham Hills. She was shaken but uninjured by the incident.
About 20 minutes a girl was allegedly threatened by a man armed with a knife in Wandella Road at Northmead. He allegedly stole her green Nissan Pulsar and drove from the scene before it crashed into a Highway Patrol vehicle near Windsor Road.
The man was arrested behind a service station on Windsor Road after a short foot chase. A knife has been seized at the scene.
He will be taken to Castle Hill Police Station for questioning. Police are still searching for a Subaru and Mazda3 reported stolen this morning.
Detectives from the Metropolitan Armed Robbery Unit also intend to interview the man over robberies on five chemists, three of which allegedly involved car jackings, as well as a further four armed robberies on hotels and other businesses across Sydney since January 9.
