Police Appeal For Information After Shooting Death – Fairfield

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a man at Fairfield last night.

About 11pm, Police and emergency services attended a home on Cathcart Street, Fairfield following reports a man was shot.

The man, believed to be aged in his 40s, was urgently transported to Liverpool hospital for treatment of serious injuries but died a short time later.

A crime scene has been established and is currently being examined by specialist officers.

Cathcart Street is currently closed between Sackville Street and Railway Parade while investigations take place.
