Woman Faces Court On 40 Offences After Alleged Nine-Hour Shoplifting Spree – Central Coast
A woman is facing Gosford Court today on 40 offences after an alleged nine-hour shoplifting spree, which included an entire case of Chivas Regal scotch.
It is alleged the 62-year-old woman drove from her Sydney home to the Central Coast on 17 and 18 December.
She was arrested yesterday as a part of Operation “Fairgo” being conducted by Brisbane Water Target Action Group. “Fairgo” was targeting retail shoplifting at an Erina Fair shopping precinct.
It is alleged 22 separate businesses were targeted by the woman and police have recovered about $4,500 worth of property including women’s and children’s clothing, electrical goods and alcohol.
The 62-year-old was arrested as she was leaving a supermarket within the complex.
She was charged with 19 counts of larceny and 21 counts of having goods in custody suspected of being stolen.
The Hillsdale woman was refused bail and is due to appear in Gosford Local Court later today.
