Appeal For Information After Women Hit By Cab – Lilyfield

Police are appealing for information after a pedestrian was hit by a taxi on the City West Link this morning.

About 4:45am, a woman believed to be aged in her 30s, was dropped off by a taxi on the westbound lanes of the City West Link at Lilyfield.

Police believe the woman was crossing the road when she has fallen and been hit by another taxi travelling east.

The driver of this taxi stopped and checked on the woman before getting in the car and driving off.

Police and emergency services were called to the scene and the woman was taken to hospital with suspected spinal injuries, broken arms and legs.

The City West Link has been closed with Police establishing a crime scene and officers from the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit attending the scene.

Police are appealing for the driver of the taxi to come forward as well as any motorists who might have witnessed the crash this morning.

Motorists are warned to expect delays in the area with diversions in place through Balmain Road and Catherine Street.
