Tasmania Shadow Minister for Health Jeremy Rockliff

O’Byrne’s Secret Royal Deal

Health Minister Michelle O’Byrne has been forced to admit that the Royal Hobart Hospital will be smaller than first announced, have only around half the proposed new operating theatres and procedure rooms, timeframes are blowing out and the rebuilt Royal will not be finished until June 2017, Shadow Minister for Health Jeremy Rockliff said.

“Literally hours before the federal election started, Michelle O’Byrne and the Federal Labor Health Minister cobbled together a new agreement that means the Royal Hobart Hospital that Labor builds will be drastically different to the Hospital Kevin Rudd and Lara Giddings promised.”

“Tasmanians won’t get the Hospital they were promised because of Labor’s incompetence. They’ve already wasted $21 Million on studies, reviews and committees, but they are yet to lay a single brick.  You can’t trust Labor with money, you can’t trust Labor to keep their word and you certainly can’t trust Labor to deliver major projects.” Mr. Rockliff said.
