Speeding Driver’s Licence Seized – Mascot

A driver has had his licence confiscated after he was detected travelling almost 60 kmh above the speed limit at Mascot this morning.

Botany Bay Highway Patrol Police were conducting stationary speed enforcement duties on General Holmes Drive at 11.30 pm when they saw a 2009-model red Hyundai Getz allegedly being driven North at high speed.

The 26-year-old male driver stopped when directed, and was issued with a Traffic Infringement Notice (TIN) for exceed speed by more than 45 km/h.

Police will allege the man, from Gymea Bay, was travelling at 127 km/h in a 70 km/h zone.

His licence was suspended for six months.
