Giddings Caves Into The Greens On Same Sex Marriages

This is yet another victory for Greens leader Nick McKim. Last year Premier Lara Giddings said it was unconstitutional, now at Mr. McKim’s bidding she is going to legislate for same sex marriages in Tasmania, Deputy Leader of the State Opposition Jeremy Rockliff said.

“Most Tasmanians will be wondering why Lara Giddings and her Labor colleagues haven’t seen fit to put as much effort into addressing Tasmania’s unemployment rate which is the worst in the nation, the flat-lining economy, cuts to frontline services, and the rising costs of living.”

“Unlike Labor, we haven’t changed our position on this since last year.” Mr. Rockliff said.
