Third Teen Charged Over Attempted Murder – Toongabbie
A 16-year-old girl is the third teenager to be charged following the attempted murder of a man in Toongabbie on Tuesday 8 December 2009.
About 12.30am, a 22-year-old man was at his home in Targo Road when he answered a knock at the door before being attacked by a group of at least five people.
The man was allegedly struck repeatedly to the head with a hammer, a glass bottle and a chair.
The victim suffered a fractured skull and was taken by ambulance to Westmead Hospital in a serious condition, where he underwent surgery.
Two fifteen-year-old youths have been charged with attempted murder and affray.
Police yesterday arrested a third youth, a teenage girl, and charged her at Merrylands Police Station with attempted murder and affray.
The girl was refused bail and will appear in Parramatta Children’s Court today.
