Tasmania Opposition Leader Will Hodgman
More Back-Room Deals On Forestry
Victor P Taffa
By refusing to debate the forestry deal legislation in Parliament today, the Premier has admitted that she does not yet have the support of the Greens to pass it.
Instead, she is busy cooking up yet another back-room deal with the Greens, in order to keep the Labor-Green experiment alive, according to Opposition Leader Will Hodgman.
“Yesterday, Labor Legislative Councillor, Craig Farrell, said that Labor supported the forestry deal legislation and used his vote to pass it through the Upper House.”
“Yet today, Premier Giddings refused to bring on the forestry deal legislation for a vote. If Labor is going to vote for the forestry deal legislation, why wait? Tasmanians are sick and tired of Labor and the Greens’ self-interested, back-room deals.” Mr. Hodgman said.
“Premier Lara Giddings has already given the Greens the forestry industry in exchange for staying in power, the question is, what’s next?” Mr. Hodgman asked.
