Further Charges To Be Laid Following Investigations Into Historical Indecent Assaults

Sex Crimes Squad detectives are expecting to lay further charges against two men in court today following investigations into two additional incidents involving alleged indecent assaults against two boys dating back to the 1980’s.
One of the men, a 60-year-old, was arrested on Wednesday 23 December at a unit on Weston Street at Harris Park. He was charged with 141 sexual assault offences.
He will face Central Local Court today where detectives expect to lay further charges relating to the alleged indecent assault of a male aged between 11 and 15 between 2004 and 2007, at Harris Park.
A 56-year-old man was arrested at a home on Devere Avenue at Belrose and charged with 114 sexual assault related offences.
He will face Central Local Court today where detectives expect to lay additional charges relating to the alleged indecent assault of a 13-year-old male at Belrose in 1986.
The arrests follow lengthy inquiries by Police into alleged sex offences against a boy between 1979 and 1988, as well as the alleged prostitution of the boy to numerous men.
Strike Force Lighthorse comprises detectives from the State Crime Command Sex Crimes Squad and was established in 2008 to investigate the alleged incidents.
