Police Arrest Man After Man Slashed With Machete – Forster

A man will re-appear at court following the violent assault of another man in Forster yesterday.

About 10:50pm (Sunday 22 November 2009) Police and paramedics were called to Ballingal Way, Forster following reports a man had been assaulted and was suffering a knife wound.

Upon arrival, Police found a 24-year-old man had been slashed on his neck with a machete during an alleged confrontation with another man.

The injured man was taken to Manning Base Hospital where he underwent surgery for a deep laceration to his neck. He remains in a stable condition.

As a result of investigations, Detectives from Manning/Great Lakes Local Area Command arrested a 24-year-old man at his home in Forster and took him to Forster Police Station.

He was charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and refused bail appearing at Taree Local Court today.

The 24-year-old man has been given conditional bail to re-appear at Forster Local Court on Wednesday 20 January 2010.
