Former Doctor Re-Arrested And Additional Charges To Be Laid – Strike Force Tarella
Sex Crimes Squad detectives have this morning re-arrested a man and are expecting to lay additional charges in relation to further allegations of sexual assault, indecent assault, and grievous bodily harm.
Just after 8am today, a 59-year-old man presented himself to Parramatta Police Station where he currently remains. Charges are expected to be laid.
Today’s re-arrest relates to ongoing investigations by Sex Crimes Squad detectives into a further 21 separate alleged incidents, some dating back to 1989.
Strike Force Tarella comprises detectives from the State Crime Command’s Sex Crimes Squad and was established in February 2008 to investigate more than 100 allegations of misconduct by a former NSW doctor between 2001 and 2003, at Baulkham Hills and Bega.
Police previously arrested a man, who was aged 58 at the time, at Baulkham Hills in September last year. He was charged with aggravated sexual assault, indecent assault; female genital mutilation, and grievous bodily harm offences.
