Crash Victims All From Far South Coast

Police have identified the driver and passengers of a vehicle involved in a fatal crash on the State’s South Coast this morning.

About 3.40 am, a Hyundai Excel was travelling North on the Princes Highway when the vehicle left the roadway and hit a tree at Little Bellbird Hill about 1 km North of Eden.

As a result a 17-year-old Pambula girl driving the vehicle died at the scene.

A 15-year-old boy from Merimbula was airlifted to Canberra Hospital and is in a critical condition.

A 15-year-old girl from Bembooka and a 13-year-old boy from Merimbula were transported to Pambula Hospital, before being airlifted to Canberra Hospital. They both remain in a critical condition.

Crime scene officers attended the scene and detectives from Far South Coast LAC are investigating.

Two lanes on the Princes Hwy were closed for a number of hours while Police investigated. Police are unable to comment as to when the Princes Highway will be upgraded for safety reasons.
