South Australia Shadow Minister for Transport Vickie Chapman

Let Labor Know About Lousy Buses

Victor P Taffa

Labor Minister Tom Kenyon will be in the firing line tonight when he hosts a transport forum to hear complaints about Adelaide’s bus services.

The meeting follows information being revealed in Parliament last week that showed services in some areas of Adelaide are so bad that every second bus is late.

Representatives from one of Adelaide’s private bus operators will be at the meeting but the Opposition is calling on Transport Services Minister Chloe Fox to attend.

“Minister Fox should be attending this meeting to hear firsthand how bad our bus network is at the moment.” Opposition transport spokeswoman Vickie Chapman said.

“It is far more important that Minister Fox attends the meeting than it is an employee of the private operator.”

“Minister Fox has admitted some bus services are lousy and tonight would be an opportunity for her to justify why she is not doing anything about fixing them.”
