Students in Deniliquin and surrounding areas can now reap the benefits of the New South Wales Government’s multi-million dollar investment in education with the opening today of the TAFE NSW Deniliquin Connected Learning Centre (CLC).

Minister responsible for TAFE NSW Adam Marshall attended the opening of the new $6.2 Million facility along with Member for Murray Austin Evans.

Minister Marshall said the CLC would significantly increase the number of courses available to students in Deniliquin and the region as a whole.

“With the opening of the Deniliquin CLC, TAFE NSW will be able to more than double the number of courses available to local students in 2019, including courses in business, retail and health previously unavailable in the region.” Minister Marshall said.

“This new state-of-the-art facility will give local students the opportunity to tap into TAFE’s state-wide network of campuses, providing greater access to a range of learning and course options.”

“Critically, TAFE NSW Deniliquin CLC reduces the need for local students to travel to Albury, Wagga, Canberra, or even further afield, to get the skills they need to secure the career they want.” Minister Marshall said.

Mr. Evans said the new multi-million dollar CLC is great for local students and the community.

“Local students now have access to new learning spaces and technologies to study a huge range of courses, including a Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery and a Diploma in Business Administration both offered locally for the first time.” Mr. Evans said.

“New TAFE NSW CLC here in Deniliquin will benefit not only the local community, but the wider region, helping more people get the skills they need for the jobs of tomorrow.”

TAFE NSW’s Deniliquin CLC is one of 14 regional CLC’s planned for regional New South Wales, a key initiative of the New South Wales Government’s ONE TAFE reforms.
