Western Australia Minister for Planning John Day

Two New Members Appointed To Armadale Redevelopment Authority Board

Victor P Taffa

Western Australia Minister for Planning John Day today announced the appointment of two new members to the Armadale Redevelopment Authority (ARA) Board of Management.

Mr. Day said Charles Johnson and John Ruprecht would bring new professional skills to the board, particularly in planning and water policy.

“Charles Johnson, who is the executive director of Strategic Policy and Research within the Department of Planning, has been appointed as Deputy Chairperson.” Mr. Day said.

“He has a background in urban geography and town planning, with almost 30 years experience working at local and State government levels, as well as a period in private consultancy.”

“John Ruprecht is the director of Water Resource Management in the Department of Water.”

“He has more than 25 years experience in water supply, water resource management and natural resource management.”

“The biggest project of the ARA is the Wungong Urban Water Project, which integrates complex water policy and planning issues, so I am very pleased to add expertise in these areas to the board.”

The appointment of the two new members follows the expiry of the term of appointment for the Hon. Kay Hallahan AO and the resignation of Ms. Marion Fulker.

The Minister acknowledged the significant contribution of Ms. Hallahan, who was an inaugural board member and, except for the latter part of 2004, served on the board since 2002.  He also acknowledged Ms. Fulker, who was appointed in May 2009.
