Man Charged Over Alleged Cricket Bat Attack – Asquith

A man will appear in court today charged in relation to an alleged attack with a cricket bat at Asquith in Sydney’s North.

About 12.15 am yesterday (Sunday 24 January 2010), officers attached to Kuring-gai Local Area Command attended a home unit in Bouvardia Avenue following reports a man had been assaulted with a cricket bat.

A 45-year-old man was found suffering serious head injuries and taken to Royal North Shore Hospital for treatment.

A crime scene was established and a number of items located at the scene were seized for forensic examination.

A 38-year-old man was arrested and taken to Hornsby Police Station for questioning.

The man was later charged with recklessly cause grievous bodily harm and refused bail and will appear in Parramatta Bail Court today (Monday 25 January 2010).
