Students in Corowa will now have the option to complete their education and training close to home with the opening today of the newest TAFE NSW Connected Learning Centre (CLC).

Minister responsible for TAFE NSW Adam Marshall and Member for Albury Greg Aplin officially opened the new $3.7 Million centre.

Minister Marshall said the CLC would significantly increase the number of courses available to students and industry in Corowa and the region as a whole.

“New South Wales Government is investing in TAFE NSW, here in Corowa and right across the state.” Minister Marshall said.

“Corowa CLC is one in a series of modern education facilities, which will expand the reach of TAFE NSW in the regions and increase the courses and training options available.”

“Corowa CLC has more than tripled the number of courses available to local students, with many more to come in the future.”

“New TAFE NSW facilities here in Corowa are a win not only for the local community, but also for the wider region, helping more local people get the skills they need for the region’s jobs of tomorrow.”

Mr. Aplin said the new facility would reduce the need for local students to travel as far as Canberra to study, meaning more young people can stay in the community.

“This multi-million investment in education is an absolute game-changer for local students and demonstrates how the New South Wales Government is delivering for the region.” Mr. Aplin said.

“Local TAFE NSW students can now access flexible learning technologies to study the huge range of new courses in Corowa, including a Certificate II in Early Childhood Education and Care, a Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery and a Diploma in Business Administration all offered locally for the first time.”

“These new courses are backed up by a full-range of Mobile Training Units that will deliver the quality practical training TAFE NSW is known for, consistent with industry standards.” Mr. Aplin said.

CLC’s are a key initiative of the New South Wales Government’s ONE TAFE NSW reforms that will enable TAFE NSW to deliver modern, flexible and industry relevant training across regional New South Wales.
