About 6.50pm on Thursday 8th October 2009, the 13-year-old girl was jogging with her father through a bush track at Boambee East when she became separated.

While the girl was walking alone along the track, she saw a male standing on a vacant block of land.

The girl kept walking and a short time later was grabbed from behind by the male.

The male threatened the girl with a knife and forced her to walk to a nearby playground.

A short time later, the male placed the knife into his pocket and ran from the scene and onto nearby Avonleigh Drive.

The girl ran and found her father before contacting Police.

Investigators from Coffs/Clarence Local Area Command have interviewed the girl and have a description of the male.

He is described as being of Asian or Pacific Islander appearance, 16-17 years old, 178 to 180cm tall, tanned skin, athletic build, with short brown spiky hair and a distinctive five centimetre scar on the left side of his neck which runs diagonally down his neckline.

Police have released a COMFIT image after a teenage girl was grabbed and threatened with a knife near Coffs Harbour earlier this month.

Anyone who knows the man involved should immediately contact Coffs Harbour Police via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
