Investigations Into Stabbing Lead To Teen’s Arrest – Ambarvale
Police have charged a boy with the stabbing of another teenager during a fight at Ambarvale earlier this week.
About 6:45 pm on Monday 11 January, a 17-year-old boy was on a bus heading to Ambarvale when he became involved in a verbal argument with another male passenger.
The pair got off the bus at Copperfield Drive, Ambarvale where it is alleged the argument continued and the 17-year-old was stabbed a number of times to the chest.
The other male fled the scene prior to Police arrival.
Police and emergency services were called to the scene and the injured teenager was taken to Liverpool Hospital where he underwent surgery and remains in a serious but stable condition.
Following investigations by detectives from Campbelltown Local Area Command, Police conducted a search warrant at a home in Carstone Way, Ambarvale about 3 pm yesterday.
While at the premises a 16-year-old teenager was arrested and taken to Campbelltown Police Station where he was charged with wound with intent to commit grievous bodily harm.
The youth was refused bail and is expected to appear at Campbelltown Children’s Court today.
