Appeal For Public Assistance After Car Damaged By Debris On F3 Freeway – Berowra
Police are appealing for public assistance after a car was struck by debris believed to have flicked up from the roadway in Sydney’s North this morning.
Shortly before 7 am a Hyundai Getz was travelling Southbound on the far left lane of the F3 Freeway at Berowra when it was struck by a piece of aluminium about 1.5 m long.
As a result the car’s windscreen was shattered. The P2 driver, an 18-year-old Kariong woman, escaped injury.
She pulled her car over and was treated by NSW Ambulance Paramedics at the scene as a precaution.
Inquiries into the cause of the incident are continuing; however, at this stage Police believe the object was flicked up off the roadway by another vehicle driving over it.
Traffic was disrupted for a short time before the affected lane was re-opened.
Anyone with information about the incident or who saw what happened is urged to contact Hornsby Police on (02) 9476 9799 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
