About 10.30 am on Thursday 2nd September, 2010 a 30 year old male victim was driving a State Transit bus along Epping Road, Marsfield. The bus driver then spoke to a 19 year old female passenger from Marsfield about the ticket she was using to travel. The female became angry and swore at the bus driver. She also made a number of racist remarks which were directed at the bus driver. The bus driver asked the female to get off the bus but she refused and sat at the rear of the bus.

About five minutes later the female approached the bus driver and commenced arguing with him again. After directing more racist comments towards the bus driver the female threatened to kill him. The female started punching the bus driver around the head causing him pain. The female demanded to be let off the bus but the bus driver waited for the arrival of Police. Upon arrival of Police at the scene they took details of the female and released her pending further inquires.

About 9.20 pm on Friday 3rd September, 2010 the female was arrested at Eastwood Police Station for assaulting the bus driver. She was taken to Ryde Police Station and charged with assault. The female was granted conditional bail to appear at Ryde Local Court on the 22nd September, 2010.
