Western Australia Minister for Lands Brendon Grylls

Development Opportunity For Local Builders At Award-Winning Estate

LandCorp is inviting expressions of interest from Kimberley builders to build house and land packages at the award-winning Januburu Six Seasons residential estate in Broome.

Western Australia Minister for Lands Brendon Grylls said the State Government was responding to strong local demand for all inclusive housing options and more choice in design styles.

“Demand for reasonably priced housing in Broome continues to be a key issue and we are working hard to address this by stimulating competition to create more affordable housing options.” Mr. Grylls said.

“Local builders have the chance to provide submissions that comply with design guidelines, working together to encourage construction of more climate sensitive, energy and water-efficient homes.”

“This is a great opportunity for the private sector to play a key role in finding accommodation solutions and providing a range of housing options to the Kimberley region.”

The Minister said 20 lots were available to build house and land packages at the estate.

The development, a modern, well-planned, family-friendly estate, had set a benchmark for residential development in Broome.

Januburu Six Seasons won the sustainable urban development category at the 2009 Urban Development Institute of Australia (UDIA) State Awards for Excellence in September 2009.

Expressions of interest are now open. They close at 2pm (WST) on February 4, 2010.

Additional land is also available in the estate with both single residential and grouped housing sites currently on the market.
