Body Found By Passing Motorist-Manly Vale

During the early hours of this morning the body of a man believed to be in his late 20’s was found by a passing motorist.

The body was located in King Street Manly Vale at around 7.05 am (2 January 2010.)

Police from Northern Beaches Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

The death is being regarded by Police as suspicious. The deceased was fully clothed and there are no obvious injuries. Police have retrieved some personal effects from the deceased for further examination.

Police may possibly know the identity of the man however would not elaborate further until after the completion of the coronial investigation.

The man was a resident of Manly Vale. Police are unsure as to whether or not this matter is connected with a burning vehicle in the street earlier on.

An investigation has been launched into the matter.

A report has been prepared for the information of the coroner.

Investigators are seeking public assistance regarding the matter.

Investigators are appealing for anyone with information about the incident or who noticed any suspicious activity in King Street overnight to contact Dee Why Police Station via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Due to the ongoing Police operation, a number of localised traffic diversions have been installed around the crime scene.

King Street is currently closed to traffic near Condamine and Sea Breeze Streets.
