Police Appeal For Information After Bushfire – Bathurst

Police are appealing for information after bushland was burnt and livestock was lost in a bushfire earlier this month in the States’ Central West.

About 2.30pm on Friday 4 December police and emergency services were called to Rockley Mount near Bathurst after reports of a bushfire.

Rural Fire Service officers extinguished the fire. Some fences and livestock were lost in the fire however no-one was injured, around 300 hectares of bushland was burnt out.

Investigations by the NSW Police Force Forensic Service Group in conjunction with investigators from the Rural Fire Service have established that the fire was deliberately lit.

Police are appealing for anyone with information in relation to the fire to come forward. In particular police would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed a car, possibly silver or blue in colour, near the top of Rockley Mount around the time of the fire.
