Australian Boomers’ NBA superstars have touched down in Perth for 2 clashes against Team Canada at RAC Arena this weekend as part of preparations for the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup.

“We are delighted to add world class basketball into the mix of what is already shaping up as Western Australia’s biggest-ever winter of sport.” Minister for Sport and Recreation Mick Murray said.

“Perth basketball fans will be able to take in the action from some of Australia’s best NBA players, including Patty Mills and Matthew Dellavedova as well as local Wildcats and NBL stars.”

Australian NBA players Patty Mills, Matthew Dellavedova and Andrew Bogut will line up against Canada’s best this Friday and Saturday nights a precursor to the countries’ upcoming Group H matches at the World Cup in China.

Boomers’ star-studded line up also includes NBA players Joe Ingles, Aron Baynes, and Jonah Bolden.

Perth Wildcat Nicholas Kay will be joined on his home court by NBL counterparts Cameron Gliddon, Chris Goulding and Nathan Sobey. 6 members of the 2016 Olympic team will also return for the Boomers.

Boomers last played in Perth back in 2014, for the Sino-Australia Challenge where they defeated China in 2 games.

Matches follow an unprecedented winter of sport in Western Australia with the State Government bringing world-class soccer, rugby league, rugby union, and basketball to Western Australian shores in recent weeks.
