Police Seek Witnesses To Armed Robbery – Coffs Harbour
Police on the State’s North Coast are appealing for public assistance after an armed robbery at a Coffs Harbour resort.
A security guard was patrolling the grounds of the resort on the Pacific Highway about 3 am today, when he observed three unknown men crouched in a garden, near the reception block.
A short time later, the trio confronted the guard and ordered him to the ground before kicking him to the head a number of times.
The offenders, described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance and armed with a hammer, screwdriver and metal bar, then fled the scene in the guard’s vehicle.
That vehicle was later found abandoned at Korora, North of Coffs Harbour.
Police from Coffs/Clarence Local Area Command and the Forensic Services Group attended the scene and conducted inquiries. They also examined the recovered vehicle.
Investigating officers are now seeking public assistance as they continue their inquiries.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or three men acting suspiciously in the vicinity of the resort is urged to contact Coffs Harbour detectives via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
