Newsagency Robberies – Neutral Bay and Prestons

Police are investigating two armed robberies on newsagencies in Sydney this morning.

The first armed robbery occurred shortly before 6am at a newsagency on Wycombe Road at Neutral Bay.

A male newsagent was confronted by two men wearing balaclavas and armed with an iron bar.

The newsagent was struck with the bar and suffered a head wound. He has been taken to Royal North Shore Hospital.

A small amount of cash was taken and the offenders left the scene in a green late model Holden Commodore.

The second robbery occurred about 7.40am at a newsagency on Wroxham Street at Prestons.

The male newsagent was threatened by two males armed with an iron bar and had a small amount of cash taken.

They drove from the scene in a late model green Holden Commodore with NSW registration ASD – 61R.

Crime scenes have been established at both locations and Police are investigating links between the two robberies.

Anyone who sees the males or the Holden Commodore is warned not to approach but to instead ring 000 immediately.
