Alleged Shooting Incident – Newcastle

Police are appealing for public assistance following an alleged shooting incident at Newcastle.

About 2.20 pm today (Monday 28 December 2009), a man believed to be aged in his 30’s, walked into a shopping centre in Croudace Road at Elermore Vale, and told members of the public that he’d been shot.

The man was taken to John Hunter Hospital for treatment.

Police attended and a crime scene has been established.

A search is currently underway for a man who may be able to assist with inquiries.

The man is described as being 185-190 cms tall, thin build, with olive complexion, brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a dark hooded jumper and running along Croudace Road.

Members of the public are warned not to approach the man but to ring 000 immediately.

Anyone with information about the alleged incident, or the current whereabouts of a man who may be able to assist with inquiries is asked to contact Newcastle Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
