Police Investigate Serious Assault – Albury

Police from the Albury Local Area Command are investigating a serious assault that has left two men with significant injuries overnight.

Shortly before 6pm, a man aged 36, and a woman, 33, attended a home on Gardinia Street, Springdale Heights, allegedly armed with a tyre lever.

The resident of the home, a 40-year-old man, came outside and confronted the two.

A struggle ensued between the two men which continued from the front lawn of the home onto the roadway.

Police will allege the woman has then driven her vehicle over the two brawling men causing both significant lacerations.

The woman continued driving her vehicle across the NSW boarder into Victoria, where she drove into a small lagoon in Gateway Village, Wodonga.

Both NSW and Victorian Police responded to the incident, removing the woman from the vehicle.

She was taken by ambulance to Albury Base Hospital where she is under Police guard.

The two men were also taken to hospital where the 33-year-old is in a stable condition with injuries to his face, ear, arm and legs.

The second man underwent surgery and is stable with injuries to his arms and legs.

Further investigations will be conducted by Albury Detectives.
