Andrews Government is adding 29 extra weekly coach services between Seymour and Shepparton to give passengers better access to more V/Line trains.

“Victoria’s regions are growing and we’re making sure regional public transport grows with them and providing better public transport connections across the state.” Minister for Public Transport Jacinta Allan said.

“We’ve introduced extra train and coach services and is investing in major track and infrastructure improvements to get regional Victorians where they need to go at the times they need to travel.”

Minister for Public Transport Jacinta Allan announced that from mid-2018, Shepparton residents will benefit from more weekday and weekend coach services linking with trains at Seymour Station.

5 extra coach services will run between Seymour and Shepparton each week day, with 3 extra services on Saturdays, and 1 extra on Sundays. All coaches will stop in town at Mooroopna, Murchison and at Nagambie Station, with a second stop in Nagambie being investigated.

These changes will address gaps in the current timetable and spread services more evenly throughout the day.

Timings of the extra morning coach services from Shepparton to Seymour on weekends will be determined following consultation with the community.

In addition, the State Government is also providing a one-off grant of $268,000 to the Greater Shepparton City Council toward bus interchange improvements as part of the Council’s CBD revitalisation project.

New centrally located bus interchange will provide more convenient options for Shepparton residents to access the CBD by public transport.

29 extra coach services add to the 9 additional Shepparton train services added to the V/Line timetable in 2017.

On the rail network, the Government is investing $43.5 Million to upgrade the Shepparton line including rail infrastructure works between Shepparton and Seymour that will benefit the wider Goulburn Valley community.

Package of works will provide new train stabling facilities near Shepparton for regional trains and a crossing loop to cater for potential additional train services from 2020.
