Tasmania Shadow Minister for Mining Adam Brooks

Mine Approval Is Good News, But The Mine Is Still Being Held Up By A Protest Group

Victor P Taffa

Venture Minerals’ mine will bring much needed jobs and investment to the north-west, Shadow Minister for Mining Adam Brooks said.

“Unfortunately, while the mine has federal approval, work can’t start because green front groups have taken the proposed mine to the Resource Management and Planning Appeals Tribunal.”

“Once again, a mine is being wrapped up in Green tape. We simply cannot afford to lose job creating investments like this.”

“That’s why a majority Hodgman Liberal Government will change the law so that groups set up expressly to oppose developments, like Venture’s proposed mine, would be prevented from appealing. A Hodgman Liberal Government will make sure that Tasmania is open for business.” Mr. Brooks said.
