Two Men Charged Over Attempted Armed Robbery Cabramatta West
Robbery and Serious Crime Squad detectives have charged two men following investigations into an alleged attempted armed robbery at Canley Heights on Monday.
Detectives arrested a 24-year-old man at a home on Galton Street at Wetherill Park yesterday, while a 27-year-old man was also arrested at a home on Rogers Street at Wentworthville.
The 24-year-old man was taken to Fairfield Police Station where he was subsequently charged with:
- Attempt robbery whilst armed with offensive weapon,
- Participate in criminal group,
- Possess prohibited weapon (Taser),
- Possess unlicensed firearm,
- Possessing ammunition without being licensed.
The man has been refused bail and will appear at Parramatta Local Court today.
The 27-year-old man was taken to Parramatta Police Station where he was charged with:
- Attempted robbery whilst armed with an offensive weapon,
- Participate in a criminal group.
The man was refused bail and appeared at Parramatta Local Court yesterday, where he was refused bail to re-appear at Liverpool Local Court on 15 February 2010.
The charges relate to an attempted armed robbery about 12.30am on Monday 28 December in which three men smashed their way into a vehicle containing three people, outside a home at Cabramatta West.
The men allegedly physically assaulted and used a ‘Taser’ on one of the victims before demanding money believed to be the takings of a nearby service station. The victims were later treated for their injuries at Liverpool Hospital.
