Tasmania Deputy Opposition Leader Jeremy Rockliff

14 Years Of Failed Jobs Plans From Labor

Victor P Taffa

Labor has released at least 100 jobs plans and economic strategies in the last 14 years, yet we still have the highest unemployment rate in the country and our economy is still flat lining, Deputy Opposition Leader Jeremy Rockliff said.

“Under Premier Giddings 7,000 full time jobs have disappeared. In 2012 alone, 3,200 jobs have gone.” Mr. Rockliff said.

“Labor has had more than enough chances over the last 14 years and they’ve failed. How will the plan to be released by Ms. Giddings be any different to the 100 plans they’ve tried in the past 14 years?”

“In contrast, the Liberals have a real plan to create jobs and opportunity by growing the economy, by standing up for our pillar industries such as forestry, mining and tourism, and by making Tasmania the most competitive place to do business by handing-back the unfair carbon tax.” Mr. Rockliff said.
