Three Men Charged Following Operation – Middle Eastern Organised Crime Squad

Three men have been charged following their arrest this morning by Middle Eastern Organised Crime Squad detectives with the assistance of heavily armed Police.

About 6 am, an operation was conducted by officers from the Middle Eastern Organised Crime Squad Target Action Group (MEOCS TAG), along with heavily armed Police from the Tactical Operations Unit, Public Order Riot Squad, PolAir, and Highway Patrol.

Search warrants were conducted by Police at three homes at Simmat Avenue at Condell Park, Queen Street Auburn, and Beamish Street Campsie.

Three men were arrested including a 40-year-old man at Condell Park, a 39-year-old man at Campsie, and a 27-year-old man at Auburn. All three were taken to Bankstown Police Station.

The 40-year-old man arrested at Condell Park was charged with:

  • Special aggravated kidnapping,
  • Robbery in company,
  • Demand property with menaces and with intent to steal.

A number of items were located and seized by Police at the Condell Park home including mobile phones, documents, steroids, and clothing.

The 39-year-old man arrested at Campsie was charged with:

  • Special aggravated kidnapping,
  • Robbery in company.

During the search warrant at Campsie, Police located and seized mobile phones and documents.

The 27-year-old man arrested at Auburn was charged with:

  • Special aggravated kidnapping,
  • Robbery in company,
  • Supply prohibited drug,
  • Possess prescribed restricted substances,
  • Deal with the proceeds of crime.

During the search warrant at Auburn, Police located and seized about $40,000, mobile phones, clothing, about 300 g cannabis, steroids, and prohibited weapons.

All three men have been refused bail and will appear at Bankstown Local Court this afternoon.
