Under Labor South Australia has the highest unemployment rate of all mainland states.

According to ABS Labor Force statistics released today there are now 47,400 unemployed people in South Australia, an extra 700 people on last month.

Shadow Employment Minister David Pisoni said South Australians were missing out under Labor.

“If we had kept pace with national jobs growth under Labor, there would be 40,000 more jobs in South Australia.” Mr. Pisoni said.

“At the last State election Labor committed to creating 100,000 new jobs but since then there are more South Australian unemployed and fewer employers advertising new jobs.”

“Labor’s commitment continues to become further and further out of reach.” Mr. Pisoni said.

“Labor’s failure to manage the State’s economy is stifling employment opportunities for South Australians, making businesses nervous and placing South Australia in an unemployment crisis.” Mr. Pisoni said.
