BALANCE ON GOODS AND SERVICES

  • The trend estimate of the Balance on Goods and Services was a surplus of $2,446 m in October 2010, an increase of $28 m on the surplus in September 2010.
  • In seasonally adjusted terms, the Balance on Goods and Services was a surplus of $2,625 m in October 2010, an increase of $811 m on the surplus in September 2010.

CREDITS (EXPORTS OF GOODS & SERVICES)

  • In seasonally adjusted terms, goods and services credits rose $253 m (1%) to $24,324 m. Non-monetary gold rose $414 m (36%) and rural goods rose $181 m (8%). Non-rural goods fell $245 m (2%) and net exports of goods under merchanting fell $23 m (79%). Services credits fell $73 m (2%).

DEBITS (IMPORTS OF GOODS & SERVICES)

  • In seasonally adjusted terms, goods and services debits fell $558 m (3%) to $21,699 m. Intermediate and other merchandise goods fell $411 m (5%), consumption goods fell $111 m (2%) and non-monetary gold fell $48 m (8%). Capital goods rose $5 m. Services debits rose $8 m.
